Making potions in 1/2C

Posted by rylee26 | Posted in Science | Posted on August 5, 2016

Today in Open Time some of us made potions. We wanted to do it because it is fun to mix things together. To make potions we used these ingredients:

  • sand
  • food dye
  • glitter
  • flour
  • salt
  • water
  • oil
  • petals
  • leaves
  • grass
  • dirt
  • rocks

Next time we want to make potions that overflow and explode! We also want to make potions that turn into play dough.

Thanks to Ben N. and Fern L. For taking photos for us.

For the first time in Riley’s life I heard the words “I can’t wait to go to school on Monday!” And when asked about the potions, with a huge grin on his face he told us in detail what happened and how much fun it was. Thank you 1/2C and Rylee for making Open Time so awesome.

Wow, how great is that?! I’m so glad he enjoyed the age old pleasure of mixing things together; I vividly remember doing the same with my friend Julie Affelski when I was his age. Yay for science and thank you for taking the time to comment. 🙂
