Data Collection in 1/2C and G

In 1/2 C and 1/2G we have been working hard and learning more about our school environment every day. One of the Maths topics we are covering at the moment is data collection and graphing. Today during Maths we ventured out into our school environment to collect data about different things.

The 1/2C and 1/2G students chose items that they wanted to count on the North Oval. Then, while we were outside we practiced using tally marks, counting collections and skip counting. We looked at how many trees, classrooms, poles, birds, bugs, flowers and rocks we could find. Some students even chose to look for specific types of plants. It was so much fun!
