What’s been happening in 1/2ST?

Here is a little sneak peek of all the wonderful things that have been happening in 1/2ST over the course of the new year…

We made marshmallow towers using our school value of ‘teamwork’. Some of our towers looked similar and some of us had very different ideas. We found out that to make the tallest tower we needed a strong base.

We used the iPads to display our learning in the area of cyber safety. You can download the app ‘pic collage’ at home and make amazing posters and books, just like we have in class!

We read ‘Simpson and his Donkey’ and responded to the book through drawings, writing, wonderings/questions and watercolour paintings.

We’ve begun practising our skip counting in maths, looked at odd and even numbers (ask your child if they can tell you if a number is odd or even – try a big number! We have a special way of telling and you shouldn’t be able to trick us!) and looked at ‘time’. We realised that time is not just telling the time on a clock, but many other things…ask your child  at home to see if they can tell you what sort of time we have been learning about!

A few last reminders – please continue to bring in your coloured notices and make sure your child is bringing their red and blue folders to school on a daily basis. We want to make sure we are reading every night and notices are going home!

We hope you’ve enjoyed looking at our learning!
