To help us celebrate Remembrance Day on November the 11th and remember those who we lost at war, 1/2L read the picture story book ‘In Flanders Field’. We talked about what life might have been like for people at war and did a ‘looks like, feels like, sounds like’ brainstorm. We worked hard at ‘making pictures’ with our words. We then wrote some beautiful poems that we are very proud of! We also did some wonderful watercolour paintings of poppies. They are so fantastic they had to be published and shared with everyone on the blog!
1/2A has been working on poetry during our writing sessions and have been writing all types of poems. We have written acrostic poems, cinquain poems and rhyming poems. We have used Pic Collage on the iPads to publish our poems, and the end results are absolutely amazing! Its amazing how creative the students can get using such a powerful learning tool as the iPad.
