1/2LT made Anzac biscuits on Tuesday. Here is the recipe, there have been a few requests. We used one of the traditional recipes from the Australian War Memorial site. We poured, mixed and rolled mixture before baking them into crunchy, golden brown biscuits. They were delicious!

Anzac Biscuits

  • 1 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 /2 tbls golden syrup
  • 1 tbls boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda (add a little more water if mixture is too dry)

1)  Combine dry ingredients.

2)  Mix golden syrup, boiling water and bicarbonate of soda until they froth.

3)  Add melted butter.

4)  Combine butter mixture and dry ingredients.

5)  Drop teaspoons of mixture onto floured tray, allowing room for spreading.

6)  Bake in a slow oven.
